Rome, Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – Four IDF soldiers were killed and three others injured in a bombing with an explosive device this morning in Rafah, southern Gaza, the Israeli army announced. The soldiers killed were Major Omri Chai Ben Moshe, 26, from Tzafria; Lieutenant Eran Shelem, 23, from Ramat Yohanan; Lieutenant Eitan Avner Ben Itzhak, 22, from Har Bracha; and Lieutenant Ron Arieli, 20, from Hadera. According to a preliminary IDF investigation, the incident occurred during operations in the Jenina neighborhood of Rafah, around 9:30, while a D9 armored bulldozer was clearing a path followed by two Humvees. One of the Humvees then moved to the edge of the road, where it was hit by an explosive device. The army is still investigating to determine the type of explosive used, how it was triggered, and when it was placed at the location where it detonated.
