US judge orders deportation of pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil

Milan, Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – Jamee Comans, a judge in Louisiana, has ordered the deportation of pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil to Algeria or Syria, accusing him of omitting information on his green card application, according to court documents released today. This was reported by NBC News. Khalil’s lawyers, however, told CNN they plan to appeal the deportation order, stating that separate federal district court rulings remain in effect, prohibiting the government from deporting or detaining him while his federal court case is ongoing.
