Washington (USA), Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – The Justice Department of Donald Trump’s U.S. administration has asked the Supreme Court to ratify the president’s dismissal of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook over unproven allegations of mortgage fraud against her. The request comes the day after the Fed’s decision to cut interest rates. Cook took part in the key vote after an appeals court rejected the administration’s request to intervene beforehand. Cook voted with the majority in favor of a quarter-point rate cut.
