Middle East, Berlin, on recognition of Palestine: ‘Germany is not isolating itself’

Frankfurt (Germany), 22 September (LaPresse) – ‘Germany has no intention of isolating itself’ with regard to its position on the recognition of Palestine. This was stated by German government spokesman Sebastian Hille at a press conference. ‘The recognition of Palestine may be one of the steps at the end of the negotiation process that should lead to a two-state solution,’ Hille added. ‘Our position differs from that of our friends and allies. But we believe that a two-state solution is possible,’ explained a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry.
