Milan, Sep 27 (LaPresse) – In recent days, the Italian Foreign Ministry has received several urgent appeals concerning delicate cases of Palestinian minors in Gaza who require life-saving treatment, and for whom emergency evacuation requests have already been sent to Israeli authorities. Among them is Tuleen, a Palestinian newborn suffering from a serious congenital malformation known as sacrococcygeal teratoma. According to the Ministry’s statement, Farnesina, together with the Defense and Civil Protection, is working to realize this new medical evacuation as quickly as possible for all patients. Each case is being considered for transfer to the specific hospital best suited to provide the necessary care, thanks also to the willingness of regions and hospitals that have already offered to help the arriving minors. The medical evacuation, the fifteenth since the start of the crisis, is expected to take place at the beginning of next week. Little Tuleen, specifically, should be transferred to a hospital in Piedmont. So far, 181 children from Gaza have been treated in Italian hospitals, thanks to the 20 medical facilities across the country that have made themselves available.
