Chisinau, (Moldova), 28 September (LaPresse/Ap) – Polls are open in Moldova, where citizens are heading to the polls to cast their votes in what is seen as a choice between integration with the European Union or a return to Moscow's sphere of influence. The decisive vote will elect a new 101-seat parliament, after which a prime minister will be appointed and a new government formed. The pro-Western Action and Solidarity Party has held a solid parliamentary majority since 2021. It faces several pro-Russian opponents, but no viable pro-European partners. This leaves much uncertainty about the possible outcomes.
