Rome, Sept. 29 (LaPresse) – “Italy and Bahrain commit to strengthening and expanding the solid cooperation that exists between the two nations across all sectors, rooted in their common goals and shared interests. Both parties welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding establishing a Strategic Investment and Partnership (SIP), which will enhance economic relations and increase trade and investment between the two nations, with the partnership committing to invest over one billion euros.”
This is stated in the joint declaration released at the end of the meeting at Palazzo Chigi between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“Italy and Bahrain,” the statement continues, “committed to strengthening their key partnership in the field of defense, both at the military and industrial levels.”
Italy also expressed its gratitude to Bahrain “for hosting the Italian Navy Contingent within the Joint Maritime Forces.”
“The parties agreed to further intensify cooperation on energy security and energy transition, with a technologically neutral approach, focusing on industrial collaboration, research and development, energy diversification, ecological transition, cooperation in water resource management, and waste-to-energy conversion, as well as involving both countries’ public and private sectors,” the joint statement explains.
