Indonesia: 3 dead in school collapse, around 40 missing

Sidoarjo (Indonesia), 30 Sept. (LaPresse/AP) – Three students died in the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic school in the city of Sidoarjo, in the province of East Java, Indonesia. Over 100 were injured, while 38 are believed to still be under the rubble. The students are mostly boys between the ages of 12 and 18. ‘We provided oxygen and water to those who were still trapped under the rubble and kept them alive while we worked hard to pull them out,’ said Nanang Sigit, a search and rescue officer who led the operations. He added that rescuers saw several bodies under the rubble but focused on rescuing those who were still alive.
