Milan, Oct. 2 (LaPresse) – The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, strongly condemned Israel's interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla bound for Gaza and the detention of the activists on board, calling the Israeli intervention a “blatant violation of international principles” and “an act of terrorism,” according to Iranian news agency IRNA. The spokesperson also “praised the flotilla participants, from various countries, for their humanitarian efforts and their commitment to raising global awareness about the ongoing oppression of the Palestinian people,” IRNA added.
