Milan, 3 October (LaPresse) – ‘After their abduction in international waters, the participants (in the Global Sumud Flotilla mission, ed.) were forced to kneel with their hands tied with cable ties for at least five hours, after some of them chanted slogans in favour of the liberation of Palestine.’ This is according to the NGO Adalah, which is providing legal representation for the activists detained by Israel. ‘During visits by lawyers, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived with the clear intention of humiliating and intimidating them,’ reads a statement, "the flotilla participants were filmed and exploited in a degrading display of control. This humiliation took place in parallel with a smear campaign conducted by Israeli officials, who falsely labelled the flotilla members as “terrorists” in an attempt to discredit their peaceful mission and legitimise the repressive tactics used against them."
