Milan, 5 October (LaPresse) – The French government led by Sébastien Lecornu has been formed. The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, has appointed 18 ministers. According to Le Monde, thirteen have been reappointed from the previous executive and five are new. Among others, Bruno Le Maire is the new Minister of the Armed Forces, Ronald Lescure is Minister of the Economy, Gérald Darmanin is Minister of Justice, and Bruno Retailleau, president of Les Republicains, is Minister of the Interior. Rachida Dati will be Minister of Culture, and Jean-Noël Barrot is Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The Transport portfolio goes to Philippe Tabarot, while Marina Ferrari will be Minister for Sport. Former French Prime Ministers Elisabeth Borne and Manuel Valls will remain ministers, with responsibility for Education and Overseas Territories respectively. Catherine Vautrin has been appointed Minister of Labour and Health, and Amélie de Montchalin will continue to be responsible for Public Accounts. Naïma Moutchou will be Minister for Transformation, Civil Service and Artificial Intelligence, Aurore Bergé will be Minister for Gender Equality and Government Spokesperson, while Mathieu Lefèvre will be Minister for Relations with Parliament.
