Milan, 6 October (LaPresse) – The Israeli Foreign Ministry reported in a post on X that another 171 activists on board the Global Sumud Flotilla were expelled today, specifying that among them was Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg. In its post, the Israeli government continues to accuse the initiative of being linked to Hamas and calls the activists ‘provocateurs.’ "Another 171 provocateurs from the Hamas-Sumud flotilla, including Greta Thunberg, were expelled today from Israel to Greece and Slovakia. Those expelled are citizens of Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Norway, the United Kingdom, Serbia and the United States," the post reads. The Israeli government accuses the civilian mission, which intended to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza, of being a ‘publicity stunt’ and claims that ‘all the legal rights of the participants have been and will continue to be fully respected,’ accusing the activists of spreading “lies” that ‘are part of their pre-planned fake news campaign.’ Photos of some of the activists, including Thunberg, were attached to the post.
