Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Oct. 14 (LaPresse) – The Iranian news agency Fars has identified the two French nationals sentenced in Iran as Cecile Kohler and Chuck Paris.
The two have been detained since 2022 on charges that France has denounced as “unjustified and baseless.” Both were sentenced to over 30 years each.
Their sentences can be appealed to Iran’s Supreme Court within 20 days. Kohler and Paris were arrested after meeting with protesting Iranian teachers and participating in an anti-government demonstration.
France identified the pair as a teachers' union official and her partner, who were on vacation in Iran.
