Milan, 20 October (LaPresse) – "Mr Trump, Colombia has never been rude to the United States; on the contrary, it has always loved your culture very much. But you are rude and ignorant towards Colombia. Read, as your chargé d'affaires in Colombia did, “One Hundred Years of Solitude”, and I assure you that you will learn something about loneliness." This is what Colombian President Gustavo Petro wrote in a post on X, responding to accusations by the US president who had accused him of being a drug trafficker. “I don't do business like you, I am a socialist, I believe in helping others and in the common good and common goods of humanity, the greatest of all: life, which is endangered by your oil,” Petro replied, “if I am not a businessman, much less a drug trafficker, there is no greed in my heart”.
