Paris (France), 21 October (LaPresse/AP) – Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is expected to arrive at the Santé prison in Paris this morning to be incarcerated, about a month after his conviction for criminal conspiracy in the case of suspected Libyan funding of his 2007 presidential campaign that led him to the Élysée Palace. Sarkozy has contested the conviction and the judge's decision to imprison him pending appeal. One of his sons, Louis, has organised a demonstration in support of his father in the neighbourhood where he lives with his wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, to accompany him before he enters prison.
