Paris, the Louvre reopens three days after the theft

Rome, 22 October (LaPresse) – Three days after the sensational theft at the Louvre last Sunday, the Paris museum reopened its doors this morning at 9 a.m. The museum was supposed to reopen partially this Monday, but in the end it remained closed for the whole day. The museum's press office told TF1 that some parts of the building “remain inaccessible to the public”. The perpetrators of the theft, during which eight different “priceless” jewels from the Napoleonic era were stolen, are still unknown. Laurence des Cars, president and director of the Louvre Museum, will report today before the Senate Culture Committee.
