Milan, 29 October (LaPresse) – Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has signed an order prohibiting visits by Red Cross representatives to Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons. The announcement was made by his office, which emphasised that the decision was based ‘on professional advice from the Shin Bet, and after being convinced that such visits would endanger state security’. This was reported by Ynet. The Minister added: ‘The opinions presented indicate without a shadow of a doubt that the visits will seriously damage state security. The security of the state and our citizens comes first.’
