Washington (USA), 3 November (LaPresse) – Kamala Harris's candidacy for the White House was a ‘mistake’. That is the opinion of George Clooney, Democratic donor and activist, who played an important role in 2024 in forcing then-President Joe Biden to abandon his bid for re-election. In an interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, the actor also said he had no regrets about writing the famous editorial in The New York Times in which he asked Biden to step aside due to his advanced age. ‘Yes,’ Clooney replied when asked if he would write that appeal again. However, the actor believes that choosing Harris as Biden's replacement was a mistake. ‘I think the mistake in Kamala's case was that she had to run against her own record. And that's very difficult if the purpose of the race is to say, “I'm not that person.”’ For Clooney, the former Democratic vice president ‘was given a very difficult task. I think it was a mistake, honestly. But now we are where we are.’
