Milan, 4 November (LaPresse) – The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the Nepalese authorities have confirmed the death of two of the missing Italian mountaineers. The victims are Alessandro Caputo and Stefano Farronato. Since Friday, 31 October, contact had been lost with two Italian mountaineers, Alessandro Caputo and Stefano Farronato, who were climbing Panbari Peak in Nepal. Their deaths were confirmed this morning by local authorities. The two Italians had been caught in heavy snowfall at Camp 1 (5,000 metres above sea level). Other compatriots are missing and the search is ongoing. The Consulate General in Calcutta, also through the Honorary Consulate General in Kathmandu, and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is directly monitoring the situation in contact with local authorities and the families of the compatriots.
