Moscow, Nov. 5 (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, as well as intelligence services and civilian agencies, to submit proposals on the possibility of preparing nuclear weapons tests. The Russian news agency Tass reported the decision. “I instruct the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the intelligence services, and the relevant civilian agencies to do everything possible to gather additional information on this issue, analyze it at the Security Council level, and present coordinated proposals on the possible start of work to prepare nuclear tests. We’ll proceed from there. I await your report,” said Putin. His remarks come after statements last week by U.S. President Donald Trump, who appeared to suggest that the United States might resume its own nuclear tests. Speaking during a meeting with his Security Council, Putin reiterated his earlier declaration that Moscow would resume nuclear testing only if the United States did so first. However, he instructed the Foreign and Defense Ministries and other government agencies to analyze Washington’s intentions and develop proposals for resuming nuclear weapons tests.
