Washington (USA), 10 Nov. (LaPresse) – Zohran Mamdani has chosen a veteran of city and state government as his first deputy mayor. The appointment of Dean Fuleihan, announced today, gives the 34-year-old mayor-elect, a democratic socialist, considerable institutional weight for his nascent administration. The 74-year-old Fuleihan brings with him decades of government experience, including previous positions as budget director for former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, budget director, deputy mayor and a long tenure in the state legislature. Mamdani also appointed Elle Bisgaard-Church, one of his key campaign advisers, as chief of staff at City Hall.
