(LaPresse) – Donald Trump used the traditional Thanksgiving turkey pardoning ceremony, usually a light-hearted affair, to launch into a rally in which he claimed credit for his administration's successes and attacked his usual political enemies: from Joe Biden to his son Hunter, from Nancy Pelosi to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. The latter, in the president's eyes, is guilty of opposing the deployment of the National Guard to Chicago. ‘He's a fat guy,’ Trump repeated several times. This year's beneficiaries of the pardon were two turkeys, “Wabble” and “Gobble”, which, in the president's rhetoric, are the “biggest turkeys ever seen”. After the ceremony, which was also attended by First Lady Melania, Trump will fly to Florida to spend Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago.
