Milan, Dec. 4 (LaPresse) – “About 10 days ago the White House called Miraflores and I had a conversation with President Donald Trump. The tone was respectful and cordial.” This was stated by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, speaking on Venezuelan state television as reported by El País. “If that phone call means that steps are being taken toward a respectful dialogue between the two countries, then dialogue and diplomacy are welcome,” he said live on television. Maduro, breaking his silence on the conversation, stressed that his years as foreign minister taught him to remain cautious on important matters. “The United States and all its youth are tired of endless wars,” he added. “The path for the people of the United States and Venezuela must be diplomacy. Everything will go well for peace,” he said.
