Washington (USA), 18 December (LaPresse) – The board of directors of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has voted to rename the facility in honour of both the former president and President Donald Trump. ‘The Kennedy Centre's board of trustees voted unanimously today to name the institution “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Centre for the Performing Arts”,’ said centre spokeswoman Roma Daravi in a statement. ‘The unanimous vote recognises that the current president saved the institution from financial ruin and physical destruction. The new Trump Kennedy Centre reflects the unequivocal bipartisan support for the American cultural centre for generations to come,’ she added. As reported by CNN, the vote took place during a board meeting, during which Trump spoke by telephone.
