Rome, Jan. 3 (LaPresse) – Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López announced the deployment of military forces throughout the country in a video posted on social media, after the US military carried out strikes in the country. As reported by CBS, the defense minister called for a united front of resistance in the face of the “worst aggression” ever suffered by Venezuela. He stated that all armed forces would be deployed following “Maduro’s orders”, but made no reference to the alleged capture of Maduro. “They have attacked us but they will not subjugate us,” he said. The minister issued an appeal for calm and unity and warned against anarchy and disorder, cautioning: “Let us not succumb to the panic that the enemy is trying to instill.”
