Milan, 4 January (LaPresse) – ‘The European Union calls for calm and restraint from all parties to avoid escalation and ensure a peaceful solution to the crisis.’ This was stated by the High Representative for EU Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, in a joint statement with 26 EU Member States (Hungary not included). ‘The EU recalls that, in all circumstances, the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter must be respected. The members of the United Nations Security Council have a particular responsibility to uphold these principles as a pillar of the international security architecture,’ the statement continued.
