Milan, Jan. 5 (LaPresse) – In Venezuela, "we believe that Trump’s military intervention is not suitable to resolve the issues, but, at the same time, the US intervention is legitimate given the threat they perceived, and I believe this will also emerge during the trial of Maduro, also considering the key witness, represented by the former head of the Venezuelan secret services." This was said by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Rtl 102.5. "Drug trafficking is a tool not only of economic interest, but also a means to attack other countries. In any political analysis that is made, therefore, from this point of view, to protect one’s own security, the intervention becomes legitimate," Tajani added, "that said, now we need to work for a democratic transition, so that the Venezuelan people can experience a new era of democracy, freedom, and respect for the rule of law, because in these years very few have strongly denounced and committed themselves to challenging the crimes committed by Maduro’s dictatorship, which we have always done. Many organizations today, which complain about a lack of debate on international law, did not address it because they truly underestimated what Maduro’s criminal regime was."
