Washington, Jan. 6 (LaPresse) – “You know the media never reported my words ‘walk or march peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol’? You know, they never reported it,” said U.S. President Donald Trump, addressing House Republican lawmakers during their annual retreat at the Trump-Kennedy Center, recalling his remarks that sparked the January 6, 2021, assault on Capitol Hill, according to U.S. media.
“In my speech, I said ‘peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol, peacefully and patriotically.’ You know the unselected committee didn’t report that I said those words?” Trump added, referring to the House committee that investigated the events.
