Milan, 7 January (LaPresse) – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told lawmakers that recent threats by Donald Trump's administration against Greenland do not herald an imminent invasion and that the goal is to purchase the island from Denmark. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the discussions. According to the American newspaper, Rubio's statements were made yesterday during a closed-door briefing. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump and his team are discussing options for acquiring Greenland, and the use of the US military to achieve this goal is ‘always an option,’ the White House said on Tuesday.
