Crans-Montana (Switzerland), 9 January (LaPresse) – ‘Our country would also like to express its deepest gratitude for the countless expressions of solidarity and for the healthcare personnel who worked on site.’ These were the words of Swiss Federal President Guy Parmelin, speaking in Martigny at the memorial service for the victims of the Crans-Montana fire. Many people, far beyond Switzerland, have followed this tragedy closely, particularly in France, Belgium, Germany and Italy,‘ he added. ’This international solidarity moves us and makes us feel responsible. It reminds us that we are not alone in our diversity."
