Milan, 23 Jan. (LaPresse) – ‘As the fourth anniversary of the invasion’ of Ukraine "approaches, we understand and share Zelensky's frustration at the continuation of this barbaric war. The UK has always acted decisively towards Ukraine, including by leading the Coalition of the Willing. It has also allocated £1.2 billion in bilateral and humanitarian aid. As diplomacy continues, we stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine to ensure its defence." This was stated by a Downing Street spokesperson, commenting on yesterday's speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Davos forum, in which he criticised Europe, describing it as “lost” in the face of Trump's US. This was reported by the British broadcaster Sky News. When asked whether British Prime Minister Keir Starmer believes Europe should do more, the spokesperson replied: “The Prime Minister is clear on a broader point: Europe must step up its efforts on defence and security. The key player is Putin, who could end the war immediately”.
