Madrid (Spain), Jan. 23. (LaPresse) – The Railway Accident Investigation Commission (Ciaf), which is investigating the train derailment that occurred on Sunday evening in Adamuz, in the province of Cordoba, stated in a preliminary report that, based on the information available so far, the most likely hypothesis is that the track broke before the Iryo train passed. “Based on the information available at this time, it can be assumed that the rail broke before the Iryo train involved in the accident passed and therefore before the derailment,” reads the Commission's report, which emphasizes that “the hypotheses formulated must be considered provisional and subject to verification through further tests that are expected to be carried out in the next stages.”
