Rome, 26 January (LaPresse) – ‘It is denied that ICE USA will operate in Italy. To date, no cooperation agreements have been signed for the Olympics. All public order and security activities in Italy are managed, without exception, by the Ministry of the Interior and its local branches,’ i.e. ‘prefectures and police headquarters.’ This information comes from qualified sources within the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior, who specify that ‘at present, there is no indication that ICE USA agents will accompany the American delegation for the purpose of providing security. The composition of the US security detail has not yet been communicated by their authorities.’
