Bern, Jan. 27 (LaPresse) – Regarding the tragedy of Crans-Montana, “since there are Italian victims, the authorities across the border are also required to open a criminal proceeding. They have done so and, in order to be able to cooperate efficiently, they have requested judicial assistance from Switzerland. The Federal Office of Justice received this request on January 13 and the following day forwarded it to the authority competent for the case, namely the Valais Public Prosecutor’s Office, which today informed us that it will examine the request on the merits by the end of this week.” This was stated to Swiss public broadcaster RSI by the head of communications of the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ), Ingrid Ryser, as quoted by the broadcaster itself.
