Washington (USA), Jan. 27 (LaPresse) – Arizona authorities say that one person was shot and is in critical condition due to a shooting involving the Border Patrol near the United States-Mexico border. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated that it is working with the FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Protection on the investigation of the shooting that occurred in Arivaca, Arizona, a community about 10 miles from the border. The Santa Rita firefighters said that one person was taken into custody. "Patient care was provided on a local medical helicopter for rapid transport to a regional trauma center," the firefighters said. The Department of Safety, contacted by AP, did not immediately provide comments on the incident.
