Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 1 February (LaPresse/AP) – Iran now considers all European Union armies to be terrorist groups. This was stated by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, in response to the EU's declaration of the Pasdaran as a terrorist group for taking part in the bloody repression of anti-government protests. Tehran's designation of European armies as terrorist groups will probably be mainly symbolic. Qalibaf made the announcement while he and other members of parliament wore Revolutionary Guard uniforms in a show of support for the Pasdaran. The Revolutionary Guard, which also controls Iran's ballistic missile arsenal and has vast economic interests in the country, answers only to the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
