Moscow, Feb 9 (LaPresse) – "We are told that the Ukrainian problem must be solved. In Anchorage, we accepted the proposal of the United States. They made proposals, we accepted, so the problem should have been solved. The position of the United States was important for us. By accepting their proposal, it seemed that we had resolved the Ukrainian issue and should move on to broad, comprehensive, and mutually beneficial cooperation. So far, in practice, everything seems the opposite." This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with the international broadcaster Brics, reported by Interfax. "New sanctions are being introduced, a 'war' is being organized against tankers on the high seas in violation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea," he explained. According to Lavrov, India and other Russian partners "are being prevented from buying Russian fuels, which are cheap, and are forced to buy American liquefied natural gas at exorbitant prices. The Americans have declared the goal of economic dominance," he said. "Despite all the statements by President Trump’s administration that the war in Ukraine, started by Biden, should be ended to open clear and bright prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and the United States in investment and other areas, all the laws adopted by Biden to 'punish' Russia after the start of the special military operation remain in force," Lavrov further noted.
