Washington (USA), 9 February (LaPresse) – A pardon in exchange for testimony that would clear Donald Trump and others of any suspicion in the Epstein case. This is the request made by Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyer, David Oscar Markus, before the House Oversight Committee and then reiterated in a post on X. "Ms Maxwell is ready to speak fully and honestly if she is granted a pardon by President Trump. Only she can provide the full account. Some may not like what they hear, but the truth is important. For example, both President Trump and President Clinton are innocent of any wrongdoing," said the lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend and accomplice. Maxwell, speaking via video link from the Texas prison where she is serving a 20-year sentence, invoked the Fifth Amendment, refusing to answer the committee's questions. Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican, called Maxwell's decision ‘very disappointing.’ ‘We had many questions to ask about the crimes she and Epstein committed, as well as questions about potential accomplices,’ he said.
