Bilzen (Belgium), 12 February (LaPresse) – "One Europe, one market. This was, in fact, the main topic of today's discussion. And this is our ambition: one Europe, one market. We want to be there by the end of 2027. Today we had an excellent discussion with leaders on the broader topic of competitiveness. And precisely to respond to this ambition, we agreed that at the next European Council in March, I will present a roadmap for “one Europe, one market”, an action plan that sets out in great detail what we will do, with deadlines, targets and a clear time limit for implementation." This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the press conference following the informal summit of EU leaders on competitiveness at Alden Biesen Castle in Belgium. "The ambition is for this document to be approved and adopted not only by the Commission, but also by the two main legislative bodies, namely the European Council and the Parliament. We have more or less five building blocks for this single market pact," she explained.
