Brussels, 23 Feb. (LaPresse) – "Spain did not participate in the Board of Peace. The Palestinian National Authority was not even invited, and therefore we do not consider it a useful element to promote the two-state solution, which is the solution favored not only by Spain but also by the European Union. For this reason, we consider it a serious mistake that the European Commission was present at the last meeting on February 19." This was stated by the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, upon his arrival at the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. "It does not represent," he stressed, "the position of the European Union, which is the position of the two-state solution, and therefore the Commission, on behalf of the European Union, could not participate because it did not have a mandate to do so and therefore should not have been present. In any case, there is a peace agreement that is not being sufficiently implemented. We are witnessing a ceasefire that is being systematically violated. We continue to see deaths in Gaza" and "humanitarian aid is essentially arriving slowly when it should be arriving in massive quantities."
