Turin, 3 March (LaPresse) – Bill Clinton recounted the origins of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. According to a video released today by the House Oversight Committee on last week's deposition, the former president said that around 2001 or 2002, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, then president of Harvard, called him to say that Epstein, an ‘information-hungry person’ who had donated millions to brain research at Harvard University, wanted to talk to him about economics and politics. Clinton accepted Epstein's offer and said that together they took a trip with his foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, around 2002. The former president added that he made ‘all or part of four or five trips to Asia and Africa and one to Northern Europe on Epstein's plane.’ Clinton said he also used the jet to fly from Florida to New York.
