Iran, Trump: “If necessary we will escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz”

Washington (USA), Mar. 3 (LaPresse) – “If necessary, the U.S. Navy will begin escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible,” announced Donald Trump in a post on Truth. “In any case, the United States will ensure the free flow of energy to the world,” the president said. “Effective immediately, I have ordered the United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to provide, at a very reasonable price, political risk insurance and guarantees for the financial security of all maritime trade, especially energy, passing through the Gulf,” Trump added in his post. The DFC, a U.S. federal agency, provides, among other things, political risk insurance to support privately led development projects.
