Washington (USA), Mar. 9 (LaPresse) – Iran is ready for a long war with the United States and could continue attacking Gulf countries in an attempt to push them to convince Donald Trump to step back from the conflict. This was stated in an interview with CNN by Kamal Kharazi, foreign policy adviser to the office of the Supreme Leader, who for now ruled out diplomacy and indicated that the war will end only due to economic difficulties caused by the conflict.
“I no longer see space for diplomacy. Because Donald Trump deceived others and did not keep his promises, and we experienced this in two negotiation occasions: while we were engaged in talks, they hit us,” Kharazi said. “There is no room unless economic pressure is increased to the point of compelling other countries to intervene to ensure the end of American and Israeli aggression against Iran,” he added. “This war has created a lot of pressure—economic pressure—on others, in terms of inflation, in terms of energy shortages, and so if it continues, this pressure will increase further, and others will have no choice but to intervene,” Kharazi argued.
When asked whether the Iranian military and the Supreme Leader will be aligned in the future, Kharazi responded: “Yes, exactly.”
