Rome, 14 March (LaPresse/AP) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health says that 26 paramedics have been killed in Israeli attacks. Since the clashes between Israel and Hezbollah began on 2 March, a further 51 paramedics and healthcare workers have been injured. The latest attack, which took place on Friday evening in the southern village of Burj Qalaouiyah, struck a health centre, killing 12 people and seriously injuring one. The ministry said that searches are underway for four people still trapped under the rubble. The ministry claimed that Israel has deliberately targeted medical personnel, adding that claims by the Israeli military spokesperson that ambulances are being used for military purposes are pretexts to justify the attacks.
