Rome, 14 March (LaPresse) – French President Emmanuel Macron, in a post on X, has proposed that Israel hold ‘direct talks’ with Lebanon ‘to launch negotiations and a ceasefire, and find a lasting solution’, offering Paris as the venue. “We must do everything possible to prevent Lebanon from descending into chaos,” Macron said. “Hezbollah must immediately halt its reckless escalation, and Israel must abandon any large-scale offensive and cease its massive attacks, given that hundreds of thousands of people have already fled the bombardments.”
