Iran: Drone causes fire at Dubai airport; Emirates suspends flights

Milan, 16 March (LaPresse) – A drone attack struck a fuel tank and caused a fire at Dubai International Airport. Emirates airline announced in its latest update that all its flights “remain suspended until further notice”. Emirates added that it is working with the authorities to resume operations as soon as possible and urged passengers not to travel to the airport. The authorities have closed the main road and the tunnel leading to the airport. Dubai police have advised motorists to use alternative routes. No casualties were reported in the attack. The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence stated that this morning the armed forces had shot down around 60 drones in the last few hours and that air defences are still working to intercept Iranian missiles and drones.
