Iran, Starmer: ‘We are working with our allies to restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz’

Milan, 16 March (LaPresse) – The United Kingdom is working with “all our allies” to draw up a “workable plan” to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at a press briefing, as reported by the BBC. The Strait of Hormuz must be reopened to ‘ensure market stability’, he added, but ‘it is no simple task’. Starmer went on to stress that it will be necessary to reach some sort of ‘negotiated agreement’ that limits Iran’s ability to rebuild its nuclear programme and ensures the safety of international maritime transport.
