Washington (USA), 18 March (LaPresse) – Iran could develop an intercontinental ballistic missile before 2035 if the regime “attempts to pursue such a capability”. This was stated by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard during a hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee. However, Gabbard noted that this assessment will need to be updated once the extent of the damage caused by US and Israeli strikes against Iran’s missile infrastructure has been clarified. Gabbard has returned to the centre of controversy following the resignation yesterday of the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent – effectively her right-hand man – due to his dissent over the war against Iran. This morning, ahead of the hearing, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that President Trump retains his confidence in Gabbard.
