Washington (US), 20 March (LaPresse) – The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit against Harvard University, claiming that the institution has violated the civil rights of Jewish students. The lawsuit, reports the Wall Street Journal, alleges that Harvard failed to protect its Jewish and Israeli students, ignoring the hostile atmosphere on campus and refusing to enforce anti-harassment policies. The lawsuit, which is to be filed today in the US District Court for Massachusetts, aims to compel the university to comply with civil rights laws and to recover the millions of dollars in taxpayer funds that Harvard has received whilst, according to the complaint, being in breach of the law. According to court documents, Harvard is set to receive over $2.6 billion in grants from the Department of Health and other federal agencies in the coming period.
