Frankfurt (Germany), March 21 (LaPresse) – The Russian Foreign Ministry has condemned the attack on the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in Iran, attributed to Israeli and American forces. “This is a clear violation of international law,” said ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova in a statement, as reported by Interfax. The Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the United Nations and the IAEA should provide an objective assessment of the attack. “Despite well-known claims about the ‘complete destruction’ of Iran’s nuclear program following the US airstrikes in June last year, on the morning of March 21 the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in Iran, which is subject to IAEA safeguards, was once again attacked,” Zakharova said. “The international community, including the leadership of the United Nations and the IAEA, is obliged to immediately provide an objective and uncompromising assessment of these irresponsible actions, which pose a real risk of catastrophe across the Middle East and openly aim to further undermine peace, stability and security in the region,” the statement reads.
